David Reed, Hawksley Workman, and theBetween
HEY!Something cool just came up. As you may know Denis was asked to play a little bit of didgeridoo on David Reed’s new album called Tumblehome. Haven’t hear of Davie Reed? Well well well… David Reed is a brilliant musician out of Belleville who wrote an album with some of Canadas coolest and hardest working musicaians on it…
Get this, it has 27 different people contributing, including Hawksley Workman, Andy Maize, Roberta Carter Harrison, Danny Michel, Don Kerr, Lewis Melville and theBetween. Good ol’ Denis on didge!
So this Friday there is going to be a big show to celebrate the release of this truly amazing album at the Empire Theater in Belleville ON. Go to www.theempiretheatre.com for more info… click on music… hope to see you there! Below is the official add...
"David Reed is known for his work in the music department at Centennial Secondary School, but he’s also been crafting his own music in his spare time. The release of his first original album Tumblehome is being celebrated with a live performance at the Empire Theatre. The music is a unique mix of folk, classical, indie rock and jazz, inspired by the writing of Canadian canoeist/author James Raffan. David’s fourteen-piece all-star Canadian band includes Andy Maize, Josh Finlayson, Don Kerr, Lewis Melville, Dave Clark, Bram Gielen, Blair Yarranton, Paul Harding and more, with special participation from the CSS choir and the Bridge Street Ringers. Don’t miss this world premiere CD release concert."

Denis, that is awesome!! I saw Danny Michel in concert once...he was quite eclectic but nonetheless very talented. As are you, which is why you're on this album with Hawksley and the works. Congrats buddy, exciting stuff.

Hi Rob -
Not sure if you remember me. I'm a friend of Todd and Chelsea Stelmach. We were in the same small group together awhile back. Anyway, I have a question which is completely unrelated to Dave Reed and music (although strangely enough I think that Dave went to high school with my brother in Gananoque, but that's another story). I would love to get in touch with Jess to ask her some questions about Moosonee. Would it be possible for you to have her e-mail me? jessicadunkin@trentu.ca. Thanks so much. by the way, I'm glad to see that things are going well musically. Congratulations!
