theBetween switches to Mac...

Hey there ya'll,

Rob and I so so exited... And it just proves that we are geeks. That's right, theBetween are moving over to the Mac world. Pretty soon we'll be preaching Mac to all the nations. We don't have them so we can't preach about Mac yet, but we bought 2 Mac Minis... Yup, they are on the way.

Thanks to all that came out to the Groundswell show in Alliston. We had a great time! Speaking about great time, we played our first wedding as theBetween last Saturday! The Wedding couple (who both looked happy and incredible by the way) "found" us playing at the Black Bull and asked if we could play at their wedding! So there we were, setting up in the direct sun hoping that our insruments would stay in tune. They did... But I broke a string not too far into the first set, then rob broke one while I was re-stringing and singing into the mic, and for good measure he broke another one before he could even finish the song. That's three strings in one and one half songs.

A new record!

Long Ride Home

(yes that's 2:31 AM... And yes I know I need to re-fill my washer fluid container)

theBetween have had a busy year touring all over the place in support of our latest disc "So I May Have Changed" and now we are exited to say that we are officially heading for the studio in mid July. We'll be working on songs that have become staples and favorites at the shows we've played including "Falling For You", "So Wonderful", and "Cadillac"... plus a few that no one has ever heard!

We had a great time in Mississagua last Saturday at the Drake and Firken, a special little "hello" to all of Jono's friends that showed up from Waterloo! It was great to meet you all! Hope you are all well.

Sweet ride!... Ever take it off any sweet jumps?

I saw this van in the parking lot of the independent in Sudbury. Had to share it with you... I don't know whether to laugh or be in awe!

The painting is really really well done! That's all I have to say about that...

We had a great time in Sudbury again. Thanks for all the support!

Good times in Sudbury!

Well, we had a fantastic time up in Sudbury this past weekend. Thanks to all of you who came out and supported us and bought our records! It's always a treat to play with other musicians. We had a good time meeting Mark Masri, Aileen Lombardo, & Herbie Kuhn (the voice of the Raptors). I wanna say a quick thanks to Cory (who was backing both Mark & Aileen) for lending me his capo (he didn't even know he did). I had got on stage, played the first couple of songs and then realized my capo was still in my guitar case. Fortunately for me, Cory's was close by.

Tim & the folks at Lansing were super great too! Thanks for having us. It's always a pleasure to hit Sudbury. I'm sure we'll be back!

As for this week, Den and I have decided to turn to the darkside (either that or we have seen the light... all depends on your angle)... we are making the switch to Macs. Lots of reasons why, but frankly, it's just cool. (That and they will be great recording units so we can pump out more tunes for y'all!).

Well I hope you are all good. Make sure you hit our store and get yourself a copy of our brand new live record... it's limited and going fast... by for now...

Looking at our feet...

We are always out playing shows. One of the things that people tend to do with a repetitive thing is do it faster and neater. We can set up and take down our gear up to six times a week... I took a picture of what it looks like at our feet one day because I thought "oh, that looks nice and neat". But then when I look at the picture I think "hmmm... Could tighten up those cords a little!"

I am always interested in the workings of the human mind!

Anyways, we are off to Sudbury this weekend, and looking forward to it I might add. We are hoping to catch up with some people and looking forward to a few great shows.

Man-jobs (as Den calls it)

So it all started this past Christmas when I was up visiting my in-laws in the far north. We got a phone message from our neighbours. A little worried that they were calling to say that our house had burnt down, I quickly called them back. As it turns out, I had forgotten to turn off the water supply to my outdoor taps... and as luck would have it, my pipes burst. To the rescue my good neighbour Scott capped off the broken line (which was by the way shooting water into the middle of my back yard), thus temporarily solving the problem.

Well, now that we are moving into summer and my wife is back at tending to her beautiful gardens with love, it's kinda hard to give them absolute perfect love without water. So it was up to me to put on my plumber pants (crack included... and also almost never worn!) and give a little love to this old house.

Laying under the house in the crawl space, trying to act manly, filling my lungs with dust and getting high on pipe glue, I came to the realization that life is good. These days I have been acting as Super-Dad, while moon-lighting as a rockstar. And none of this would be doable without my Super-wife. I hope that even in the crap jobs that get sent your way (in my case, because of my own stupidity), that you are able to say that life is good.
